Halfway Through the Year and We're Just Getting Started!

What a year it has already been for the Ghanaian American Association of South Carolina!

As we reach the middle of 2026, we are taking a moment to celebrate some incredible milestones, exciting victories, and the amazing community that continues to support our mission.

Back in March, we kicked off the year with our beloved Kenkey Fest, bringing together friends, families, and food lovers for a day filled with culture, laughter, and of course, plenty of delicious kenkey. It was a wonderful reminder of the power of community and the importance of preserving and sharing our heritage.

More recently, our Health is Wealth Soccer Event brought together members of the community for a day of fitness, fellowship, and friendly competition. We are especially proud to announce that our team secured a 2-0 victory over the Columbia Lions (Senegal Team)! The match was filled with energy, sportsmanship, and plenty of excitement from supporters on both sides.

But the wins didn't stop there.

One of our biggest achievements this year has been officially receiving our tax-exempt status, allowing us to operate as a recognized charitable organization. This milestone opens the door to greater opportunities, expanded programming, and an even stronger impact within our community and beyond. It represents years of dedication and a major step forward for our organization.

And now, all roads lead to our most anticipated event of the year.

The Golden Vision Gala

The Golden Vision Gala will be more than just an evening of celebration. It will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our organization.

As we continue to grow, we are preparing to launch new initiatives, strengthen our programs, expand our reach, and introduce important structural developments that will help position GHASOC for an even brighter future. We cannot wait to share these exciting announcements with our members, supporters, and partners.

There is so much on the horizon, and this is only the beginning.
